New Mustang Mach-E launch

Residents of Britain's smallest town, the aptley named Fordwich, were invited to be amongst some of the first to try out the new Ford Mustang Mach-E as they took part in a unique three day mass test drive around the Kent countryside which started at local Brett Aggregates quarry.

The 380 residents of Fordwich were challenged to switch to electric in the all new, all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E as new research* showed a large majority of those in the countryside (82%), small towns (79%) and villages (76%) would not currently feel confident purchasing an Electric Vehicle as their next vehicle, if the ban on petrol and diesel cars came in next week.

  • About Fordwich

Fordwich, dubbed Ford-switch for the event, is a remnant market town and a beautiful ancient port on the River Great Stour.  Featured in the Doomsday book and dated as a town since 1184, although never having more than a few hundred residents, Fordwich is only 6 miles south from our dealership in Herne Bay, near Canterbury, Kent.

To encourage Fordwich residents to make the switch to an electric vehicle in the long term, Ford has also partnered with British Gas to install a public charging point at the Fordwich Arms pub.

  • About Ford Mustang Mach-E

Introducing the Mustang Mach-E: Ford’s first all-electric SUV. Beautifully sculpted design, state-of the-art technologies, and a maximum electric driving range of 379 miles. The Mustang Mach-E is an electric SUV that delivers instant acceleration, with the GT model capable of 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds.
